Eleusis 2023, European Capital of Culture, in collaboration with the Aeschylia Festival 2022, presents the in situ visual arts installation “Straw falling on concrete floors” by internationally renowned visual artist Kostas Velonis, at the courtyard behind the open theater of the Old Olive Mill.
The European Capital of Culture Salzkammergut 2024 starts with the pop-up film festival "Points of View“ a series of events about architecture and regional development as a prelude to the Capital of Culture year 2024. "Points of View" is part of the Salzkammergut 2024 program-line GLOBALOCAL - BUILDING THE NEW.

Bradford has been crowned UK City of Culture 2025, taking on the prestigious title from Coventry UK City of Culture 2021. The winner was approved by Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries based on independent advice from a panel of experts led by TV writer-producer Sir Phil Redmond. The experts visited each of the four shortlisted places, which also included County Durham, Southampton and Wrexham County Borough, to learn more about the bids before making their final recommendation.

In all districts of the city of Chemnitz together, there are estimated to be between 3,000 and 30,000 garages. Many of them are simply used to park cars, while others are used for tinkering, hobbies, neighborhood chats or barbecues.

The international capacity-building forum Kultuurikompass "How to change the world through environmentally friendly cultural management?" will be held on 28 April in Tartu, European Capital of Culture 2024. The forum will take place on April 28 at 1pm at the Estonian National Museum and will be broadcast on the Tartu 2024 website and social media channels. Triin Pikk, Earth Programme Line Manager Tartu 2024, wrote opinion piece „Environmentally friendly Culture – Utopia or Already Happening?“ to support the event.
Bodø2024 has commissioned author Stef Penney to write a book set in Nordland, Northern Norway. The catch? She is not allowed to travel there. Instead, it is locals themselves who will provide Penney with inspiration for her book, sharing stories and tips remotely via mail and phone, and helping her with her research from Nordland.

European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 celebrated the birth of its programme in Tartu with an Ice Rave. The residents of Tartu and the organisers of the events gathered on the skating rink in Town Hall Square, where the energetic and unpredictable band REDEL gave a wild concert from the windows of the former dental clinic. This was followed by the audiovisual band OOPUS premiering their new track ‘Maailma loomine’, after which DJ Kersten Kõrge closed the night with pulsating rave music.
Creative Institute Trenčín is a newly-formed organisation that is responsible for the implementation of European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026. In close collaboration with stakeholders in the private, public and third sector, they focus on the development of culture and creative industries in the city and Europe, as well as fulfilling the goals of Trenčín 2026.
