An international jury consisting of representatives of the GO! 2025 - The European Capital of Culture and professionals from the art field has selected five proposals from seven artists from Slovenia, Italy and France to carry out artistic interventions in Nova Gorica along the routes of two important cycling races: Giro d'Italia and the Tour of Slovenia. The project is supported by Municipality of Nova Gorica and GO! 2025 – European Capital of Culture.

We asked managers of the European capitals of culture from 2022 to 2025, five same questions to understand their expectations in a clear and concise way. Each interview is preceded by a fact sheet on that European capital of culture. The format is the same for all. At the end of the series of interviews we will try to make a synthesis of objectives, trends, expectations by the ecocs. Today we talk about Novi Sad, European Capital of culture 2022.

In the run-up to Esch-Alzette’s term as European Capital of Culture (Esch2022), several exhibitions are now being held at Annexe22 in Esch’s “Brillplaz”. This is where Luxembourg artists present their work and installations to local residents and visitors. Sali Muller’s video installation “Wenn die Sterne vom Himmel fallen” (When the Stars Fall from the Sky) will be open until 12 June.

To celebrate Kaunas and Esch, the second-largest cities in Lithuania and Luxembourg, and both European Capitals of Culture in 2022 (alongside Novi Sad), the Lithuanian community in Luxembourg presents three photographic events at Annexe22.

2021 marks the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri. Purgatorio (Purgatory), Public Call for Dante Alighieri’s the "Divine Comedy" was a project of Matera 2019, co-produced by the Matera-Basilicata 2019 Foundation and the Ravenna Festival/ Alighieri Theater, with the support of the Municipality of Matera and the Municipality of Ravenna, in collaboration with Teatro delle Albe/ RavennaTeatro, artistic direction, devised and directed by Ermanna Montanari and Marco Martinelli

Arranging schoolyards, setting up art installations, Platonic Solids, as well as gazebos in which it is possible to hold outdoor classes, benches in school hallways, organizing reproductive health education, reading and nature clubs and relaxation and socializing zones in schools, are just some of the successfully implemented ideas of Novi Sad high school students who participated in the ‘Join, Find a Solution’ project.

With its international dimension, the Procida island, the Italian capital of culture for 2022, turns a thought to the Irish people on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, when the patron saint of the Emerald Isle is celebrated, by dyeing a of its symbols, Palazzo Merlato, which already hosts the slogan ““Culture never isolates”.

Bodø is the European capital of culture for 2024. Bodø kunstforening and Nordnorske Bildende kunstnere (NNBK) jointly produced 'Equinox' an anniversary exhibition for both Bodø kunstforening (75 years) and NNBK (50 years) in 2021. Equinox - Spring Equinox is the celebration of the first day of spring.

Ex corpore is a project, that includes an extensive research process and series of events. It is focused on the development of stage techniques based on the re-invention of the image-technique-body-speech-meaning relationship.

How will the future be? what legacy will the European capital of culture leave behind?  Timisoara 2023 has tried to answer these questions during a meeting held in recent days.

The International Day of Happiness, celebrated on the 20th of March, returns to Kaunas, Kaunas District and all of Lithuania again this year: “Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022” invites you to celebrate it for the fourth time, under the theme “Time to rise”.

From now on, the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl - Salzkammergut 2024 boldly calls itself “The Originals 2024” (“Die Originale 2024”). This brand offers all the freedom under which a diverse program can develop. At the same time, it reflects the region. The motto “No Copies * No Limits” shows that Die Originale 2024 is unique but does not close itself off. It has no boundaries.

After winning “Creative Europe” funding in May, “Kaunas 2022” project “Modernism for the Future 365/360” gains momentum: the received submissions were carefully evaluated and the commission selected artists to participate at local and international residencies.

The Tartu 2024 delegation travelled over 1000 kilometres and visited 19 Southern Estonian municipalities over the course of four days. The cooperation agreement was signed by Priit Mikk, Member of the Board at Tartu 2024; Urmas Klaas, Chairman of the Supervisory Council and the Mayor of Tartu; and the Mayor (vallavanem) of every respective municipality. The agreement is the basis for preparing and implementing the major European event - it guides the creation, marketing, and funding of the European Capital of Culture’s regional programme.
