Liepaja has been awarded the title of a 2027 European Capital of Culture, the organizers of the competition said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Before the indication, by the panel of the pre-selection for the European Capital of Culture 2027 of Portugal, we had interviewed the teams of some of the competing cities. One of these is Coimbra which failed to enter the short list. However, EcocNews wants to make known the precious work also of the excluded cities with the hope that they can continue to realize their projects and their dreams.
The president of european panel for the pre-selection of ECoC applicants in Portugal, Beatriz Garcia, announced the names of the cities that will continue the race to become the European capital of culture in 2027 for Portugal in a press conference this afternoon. Four cities have entered the short list: Aveiro, Braga, Évora, Ponta Delgada
ParkinSound is a project promoted by the Municipality of Braga and Braga'27 (candidate for European Capital of Culture - Portugal 2027), within the scope of the Braga Cultural Strategy 2020–2030, which promotes the cultural and social integration of people with Parkinson's Disease, through music.
Liepāja is one of the four latvians cities in short list for European Capital of culture 2027. This year, Liepāja Culture Department evaluated 63 project applications that were submitted to the Culture Projects Competition and 14 of them received the municipality's support. These projects will be allocated the competition funding of EUR 50 000.
