In order to enrich the programme for 2022, the ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation announced the Public call for co-financing cooperation programmes with Japan which will be implemented in the title year in Novi Sad and its surroundings.

Novi Sad, the very first city from Serbia to ever bear a title of the European Capital of Culture, will celebrate European values in 2022 with more than 1500 cultural events and 4000 local, national and international artists, within a total of eight programme arches. Novi Sad will share the title together with Kaunas (Lithuania) and Esch-Sur-Alzette (Luxembourg). The 2022 programme announcements will continue in the months to follow. The entire programme book will be published in October this year.

Novisad, European Capital of culture 2022 invites you to watch the presentation of the European Capital of Culture programme for the title year, 2022.

We asked managers of the European capitals of culture from 2022 to 2025, five same questions to understand their expectations in a clear and concise way. Each interview is preceded by a fact sheet on that European capital of culture. The format is the same for all. At the end of the series of interviews we will try to make a synthesis of objectives, trends, expectations by the ecocs. Today we talk about Novi Sad, European Capital of culture 2022.

Arranging schoolyards, setting up art installations, Platonic Solids, as well as gazebos in which it is possible to hold outdoor classes, benches in school hallways, organizing reproductive health education, reading and nature clubs and relaxation and socializing zones in schools, are just some of the successfully implemented ideas of Novi Sad high school students who participated in the ‘Join, Find a Solution’ project.
