After a long wait, the last episode of the James Bond saga, the secret agent in the service of Her Majesty that has fascinated international audiences for years, has been released in cinemas all over the world. An audience that this time will see Matera, the European Capital of Culture for 2019, among the protagonists.

After twelve years of anticipation, the official title of European Capital of Culture is back in Lithuania. The country’s second-largest city Kaunas and the surrounding Kaunas district are ready to become one big European stage next year – the grand opening is scheduled for January 22, 2022.  

Starting 25thSeptember, the Luxembourgish artist Justine Blau presents her project “I am a part of a landscape” at Annexe22 in Esch’s “Brillplaz”. From 25 September to 20 November 2021, the project will be on display in Pavillon Annexe22. Thanks to the glazed front of the cube on the "Brillplaz", visitors have access to the artwork during the day and during the night.

Music producers, DJs, soundsystems and visual artists across Europe and Japan join forces this fall at SABOTAGE 2021. Just to showcase some of the best live performances, DJ sets, new media art installations and to share knowledge through lectures, documentaries and workshops, in a converted tram depot called MultipleXity, in Timisoara, Romania.

The week of visual arts of the Kaleidoscope of Culture will be opened in Novi Sad’s Gallery Square, a place that traditionally belongs to visual arts and which in the future will be turned into a space for nurturing existing and creating new lasting values.

True North' is a filmed live-performance for future streaming release with new music from a-ha. Set in the awesome landscape of Northern Norway and recorded in the town of Bodø up above the Arctic Circle, the music from the film will be made available as a new album from the group for the first time since 'Cast in Steel’ (2015).

LEEDS 2023 and Leeds Dance Partnership announce support for dance and movement based artists and organisations in Leeds. Leeds has selected 5 independent dance and movement artists and organizations. As part of their planning for their Year of Culture, they will work closely with these artists and organizations to develop exciting new projects that complement the world-class dance offering in their city.

Altitude/Attitude is a project created in Plovdiv and for Plovdiv, provoked by the open call of the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation - Legacy 2 for the development of the city's creative potential and the establishment of Plovdiv as an active cultural and tourist centre.

On 17 September 2021, ENCATC Member Talks will co-host two interactive meetings inviting experts, ECOC delivery teams, individuals and organisations from cultural and creative industries, and other stakeholders to learn, discuss and exchange on topics of Audience development and Digital approaches to ECOCs.
 

InlanDimensions International Arts Festival, inaugurated in 2019 in three cities including Wroclaw (Poland), the host city of the European Capital of Culture 2016, opens on 24 September. Adapted to the new environment of theatre and film, the festival is held online and has launched a new VOD platform for theatre works.
