Novi Sad 2022, the NEO Festival starts on 17 June

In Novi Sad (Serbia), the NEO Festival starts on 17 June. On 6 July (Galerija Matice srpske, H 20:00), with Eu-Japan Fest support , cellist Mr Shizuka Mitsui and violinist Ms Yukiko Uno will perform with pianist Mr Pavle Krstić. Masterclasses will also be held by the participating musicians at this festival.

NEO festival (non-classical festival of classical music) is held during the summer at several locations throughout Novi Sad, in order to promote classical music in an unusual way, using open public spaces, the plateau of the Catholic Church named after Mary, Futoški Park, Danube Park, Bulevar Mihajla Pupina-space of the former Korzo, Salashi), but also closed (Eđšeg Castle, City Hall, Synagogue, KCNS, KCV "Miloš Crnjanski").

Shizuka Mitsui

Born in 1992 in Yokohama, Japan, Shizuka Mitsui started playing the cello at the age of five, in Boston, USA, where he spent his childhood. From 1998 to 2014, he studied at the Toho-Gakuen Music School in Tokyo with Hakuro Mori and regularly attended Wen-Sin Yang master classes. From 2011 to 2012 he worked at the Academy of the NHK Symphony Orchestra. In 2014, he continued his studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg in the class of Giovanni Gnocchi. Since 2016, he has been studying in the class of Clemens Hagen. He also had the opportunity to work with great artists such as Jens Peter Maintz, Natalija Gutman, Jian Wang, Danjulo Ishizaka and Wolfgang Boetcher.

Mitsui is the winner of numerous competitions in the country and abroad, the Gold Award at the Izumino-Mori Cello Competition (2009), the II Prize at the Japanese Classical Competition (without the 1st prize, 2010), the Kirishima International Music Festival Award (2011), the 1st awards at the Enrico Maynardi Competition (2016) and the II Awards at the Tokyo Music Competition (2017). In May 2017, he was one of the semifinalists of the prestigious "Queen Elizabeth" competition in Brussels.

In September 2018, Shizuka was awarded the IV and a special prize at the international competition "George Enescu" in Bucharest. At the International Cello Festival "Alfredo Piatti" in Bergamo, he performed all of Piatti's whims at one concert. He has also performed at the Mozart Festival in Cuba, the Concert of the Award Winner at the Salzburg Festival and the Kusatsu International Music Festival and the Indiana University Festival in Japan. Micuj is part of the Classeek Ambassador program for the 2019 to 2021 season, under the mentorship of Gauthier Capison.

Yukiko Uno

Born in 1995, Japanese violinist Yukiko Uno started playing the violin at the age of four. Since winning the laureate at the legendary "Queen Elizabeth" competition in Brussels in 2019, Uno has established itself internationally as a newcomer.

She has won numerous competition awards, including a double first prize at the Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competition in Italy (2016, 2017), first prize at the Chengdu Guangia Violin Competition in China (2016), and the prestigious Paul Roczek Award 2020 Award. which is awarded for the most exceptional talent and for her musical dedication to the artistic goals of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. Her awards include the 1st prize at the Czech Music Competition in Japan, the 1st prize at the Gifu International Music Festival, as well as the laureate and special prize at the Oleh Kris International Violin Competition in Ukraine.

Uno has performed as a soloist with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia, the Belgian National Orchestra, the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, the Symphony Orchestra of the Mozarteum University, the Orchestra of the Festival “St. Gellert ”, Nagoya Chamber Orchestra. He is a scholarship holder of the "Yamaha Music Foundation" for 2021. He is currently studying for a master's degree in Specialized Solo Music Performance, in the class of Rainer Schmidt at the Academy of Music in Basel (Switzerland).

Pavle Krstić

Pavle Krstić (1998), pianist currently in postgraduate studies with prof. Pavle Gililov, as well as a doctoral student at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where he works as a teaching assistant for Musical Forms and Analysis. Paul held many piano recitals, the first of which was at the age of 12. He has performed as a soloist at major events in more than 20 countries. His first performance with the orchestra was at the age of 10, and the most important is the performance of both Chopin's Piano Concertos in Kolarac Hall with Pavle Medaković and the orchestra "Ensemble MO Stanislav Binički" at the age of 17, as well as performances with the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and Maestro Mykola Djadjur Bakau Philharmonic Orchestra and maestro Ovid Balan and with the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra and maestro Jozef Suilen.

As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with many musicians, including Fedor Rudin, Irena Josifoska, Jukiko Uno, Petar Pejčić. He has also attended many music festivals. Pavle Krstić is the winner of the Vurdigungspreis 2021, which is awarded by the Ministry of Education to only 50 master's degrees from all universities (not only music) throughout Austria and "ArtLink - Societe Generale, the most promising young music artist for 2016.

He has won scholarships and awards from the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Junior Piano Academy Eppan, Wilhelm Kempff Academy Positano, Academie de Musikue de Lausanne, Lansum Music Scholarship Los Angeles IPC. Pavle has won more than 40 awards at international piano competitions. The most important of them are: 1st prize at the IPC "Zlatko Grgošević" in Zagreb, Croatia (2008), 3rd prize at the IPC "Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte" in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic (2009), 1st prize at the IPC Petar Konjović in Belgrade (2010), 1st prize at the IPC for young pianist EPTA Croatia in Osijek, (2011), 3rd prize at the Concours international de piano Lagni-sur-Marne, France (2013). He won the title of "Graduate of the Festival" on "4. Neuhaus Festival "in Moscow (2013), silver" Matryoshka "on" 2. Better Festival of Russian Music "(competing with all solo instruments and ensembles) in Mećavnik (2014).

During the Covid-19 pandemic, he participated in online competitions and won 11 awards, including the 3rd prize at the "Premio Annarosa Taddei" in Italy (2020), the 2nd prize at the "International Music Competition Juliusz Zarebski" in Poland (2020), 1st prize at the ArtePiano Competition in the United Kingdom (2020) and 3rd prize at the Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, CT, USA (2021).
