2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture organises for the first time on 29 and 30 March, at the Elefsina Old Oil Mill Factory, the conference “Narrative Archaeology | Performance in archaeological sites and excavation of human experience.” This two-day meeting takes place in the framework of the composite art activity Mystery 20 Performing Arts Initiator – Narrative Archaeology, with the aim of promoting an interdisciplinary dialogue between Arts and Archaeology.

As part of the programme of Bad Ischl, European Capital of Culture 2024, an exhibition by Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota, organised with the support of Eu Japan fest, will open on 26 April.

Nine years away from 2033, when it will again be Italy's turn to nominate the European Capital of Culture, the first cities are starting to get on track. This year Russia has its first Capital of Culture. It is the city of Nizhny Novgorod. In recent days, the handover between the European Capitals of Culture 2023 and this year's European Capitals of Culture was held in Athens, for the second time ever since the European Capital of Culture programme was born.
