On Tuesday, 10 September, in Liepāja Theatre, the foundation "Liepāja 2027 Foundation" signed an official cooperation agreement with the largest bus company in the Baltic region "Lux Express".
In order to promote and support the success of the cultural activities of the Liepāja 2027 programme, increase the mobility of visitors and thus contribute to the successful implementation of the European Capital of Culture 2027, a cooperation agreement between Liepāja 2027 and Lux Express was officially signed at the Liepāja Theatre in the presence of the Liepāja City Council, Liepāja 2027, Lux Express, representatives of Liepāja culture and hospitality industry.
"Comfortable, convenient and high quality access to Liepaja is an extremely important component in the organisation of the extensive European Capital of Culture programme. We are delighted to launch our cooperation with Lux Express just in time for the start of this season's new cultural season. We are confident that this cooperation will contribute significantly to the success of the programme," said Inta Šoriņa, Board Member of Liepāja 2027.
The cooperation between "Liepāja 2027" and "Lux Express" will provide convenient and reliable bus services to Liepāja and all of the carrier's destinations, with a special emphasis on comfort and quality, which will allow both local residents and international visitors to easily get to various cultural events. The main objective is to encourage more visitors to events in Liepaja.
"This cooperation is an important step for all of us towards long-term mobility solutions in the Baltic region, which is important not only for cultural but also for tourism development. We are proud to be part of such an important event as the European Capital of Culture. Our goal is to ensure that every visitor can enjoy Liepāja's cultural programme without worrying about getting there and enjoy a comfortable and convenient travel experience," said Aldis Ķibēns, Business Development Director of Lux Express.
All the participants acknowledged that this cooperation will further strengthen the position of Liepaja as an important cultural and tourist destination in the Baltic Sea region.
The cooperation between "Liepāja 2027" and "Lux Express" will be valid until 31 December 2027, during which time a number of joint activities are planned to promote both the European Capital of Culture programme and the city of Liepāja in the wider region.
