Turin has officially started the path to becoming a Candidate City for European Capital of Culture 2033.

On the occasion of the Patronal Feast of St. John, the official logo of Turin's candidacy as European Capital of Culture 2033 was presented to the public on the evening of June 24. The symbol was unveiled with an evocative and symbolic moment: its projection on the Mole Antonelliana, the symbol of the City of Turin, and the launch of a teaser video at the opening of the great concert that was broadcast on Canale5 on June 29 in prime time.

The logo was thus born from the collaboration between Armando Testa Group S.P.A and 80 teenagers from different schools in the area (the Liceo Artistico R. Cottini, l'IIS Bodoni-Paravia, CNOS- FAP Valdocco Torino) as well as the young students of the Adorazione del Sacro Cuore Institute - Primary School involved in an initial brief. This synergy, strongly desired by the Directorate of Candidacy of Turin European Capital of Culture 2033 and the Department of Education and Youth Policies, highlights the central role attributed to the new generations in shaping the future of the City.

The result is a logo that not only represents, but invites one to look. In the center, a shape reminiscent of a lit eye, a simple but powerful graphic sign: the curious gaze of a City that wants to see and be seen. Inside the eye, a yellow spark, penned with a boyish stroke, igniting the future. A symbol that recalls the star of the Mole Antonelliana, the stars of the European Union, and the desire to belong to something greater, without losing one's uniqueness.

The colors, a bright blue and an intense yellow, reinterpret the colors of the City in a contemporary way, making them more vivid, bolder, more vibrant. Thus takes shape a visual identity that reflects the gaze of the new generations. For an unprecedented Turin, ready to change perspective.
