The project applications submitted by Liepāja's non-governmental and private sector cultural stakeholders represented a broad spectrum of cultural aspects. Twenty applications focused on music and dance, ten on interdisciplinary projects, eight on visual arts, seven on literature and writing, five each on theatre and cultural heritage, four on cinema, two on traditional culture and two on design and architecture.
The Culture Project Competition was open only to events or activities planned to take place in Liepāja, the results of which would be of significant public benefit to the city, as well as encouraging the implementation of cultural events in times of pandemic pressure. Important aspects in the evaluation of the projects included the quality of the submitted projects, the conceptual ideas and diversity of the planned cultural events, the development of traditional and contemporary culture and other criteria. Information on when the activities of the supported projects will take place will be available to the residents of Liepāja at kalendars.liepaja.lv.
