FiftySix: Where Design Meets Science
FiftySix is a series of monthly design talks co-organised by the Golden Glitch and the Valletta Design Cluster featuring two designers presenting their projects in a 56-minute format. The event aims to provide an opportunity for designers, makers, and design enthusiasts to engage in a discourse on contemporary design practices and projects.
The FiftySix events will take place on the first Wednesday of each month at sunset. The talks will be held in the Foyer of the Valletta Design Cluster and followed by a networking session.
Kicking off our series on the 27th September at 18.30, is Prof. Philip Farrugia from the University of Malta who is championing PRIME-VR2, where Virtual Reality (VR) dons the cape to aid rehabilitation.
In the second part of the session, shifting gears (or should we say galaxies?), there’s Dr. Michael Quinton. With a PhD from Edinburgh Napier University, he's been busy turning complex astronomical data into foot-tapping, ear-pleasing sounds. It's astronomy meets symphony, and the results? Well, they're music to astronomers' ears.
