During 2024, five art points will be established - platforms for art that enter into a dialog with a city and a changing society.
For seven decades, Bodø has shared space with Air Force Base Bodø. The city has developed along the edge of the land, with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. The city is constantly on the move, and the next decade will see major changes. When the military airport is closed down, a new district, and the Bodø of the future, will be developed. The Art Edge runs along historical and societal lines; from prehistoric memories, through the establishment of the city, to post-World War II reconstruction and more recent history as the "city of airplanes" Bodø. The Art Edge gives artists the opportunity to participate in the dialog about urban development, community development and identity.
This is a unique investment in public art. Fresh funding has been made available for art to play a central role in the city's history of change.
Form of competition

To apply for participation, you must submit a sketch and project description of how your project will be realized. A maximum of three proposals for new works can be submitted. The production funds are 350 000,- per work. In addition, a fee of 50,000 per sculpture will be paid for the exhibition period, which is 2 years. The artwork remains the property of the artist.
