The foundation Liepāja 2027 is seeking an Administrator – Clerk Officer to join its team. They are looking for a professional who will ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the Liepāja 2027 office and provide administrative support for the implementation of cultural projects.

To mark the opening day of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026, an evening event open to all will take place on 20 June, starting at 6 pm, celebrating friendship, culture and the ties between the two European Capitals of Culture: Trenčín and Nova Gorica / Gorizia.

The Mediterranean Capitals of Culture and Dialogue is born from the collective efforts of over 200 young representatives from the civil society of over 20 countries, who gathered at the Forum des Mondes Méditerranéens in February 2022 in Marseille. Their recommendations, alongside the call of Ministers of Culture of the Euro-Mediterranean region in June of the same year in Naples, inspired the 43 Member States of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership to endorse it to further promote the diversity and shared identity of the Mediterranean and contribute to a better mutual understanding of its peoples. 

The Castillo de Mata Museum has embarked on a new chapter as a space for artistic creation, dialogue, and experimentation with REBEL WALLS. Urban Stories. This is a multidisciplinary artistic initiative, driven by Las Palmas de Gran candidacy to become the European Capital of Culture 2031 (LPGC’31), which opens the doors of one of the city’s historic spaces to urban art and places it at the center of the cultural program.

Mediterranean Capitals of Culture and Dialogue 2026: 183 applications from 28 Euro-Mediterranean countries received in response to the Anna Lindh Foundation’s call for proposals for Matera and Tétouan.

The exhibition titled “Terram intelligere: Interstitium,” with which Montenegro presented itself at the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale in 2025, was opened at King Nikola’s Palace in Nikšić.

Culture Next (CN) together with Larnaka 2030 European Capital of Culture, member of the Culture Next network, will host the 16th Culture Next Conference from 6–8 May 2026 under the theme “Culture for CCS – Empowering the Cultural & Creative Sectors”.

Aalborg 2032, two calls are open

As previously reported by our online webmagazine, Aalborg is one of the Danish cities to have put itself forward as a candidate for European Capital of Culture in 2032.

České Budějovice (Budweis) is preparing for 2028, when it will become the European Capital of Culture. They are looking for cultural projects that bring innovation, appeal to the general public, respond to European challenges, and are based on the local context.

At its extraordinary meeting on 25 March, the Supervisory Board of Kulturhauptstadt Europas Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH unanimously appointed Josephine Hage as the new Managing Director with effect from 1 October 2026.
