On April 30th, at the National Assembly, three citizens' bills to enshrine the "Rights of Nature" were presented to French MPs. This was a strong signal and recognition of a growing citizen mobilization across Europe to ensure sustainable rights and protection for our living and non-living environments. Bourges 2028 played its full part in this historic first, held in the Palais Bourbon, the French National Assembly.
Few days ago, at the Halle au Blé, over 800 people gathered to launch their CRI for Bourges 2028. This unprecedented call for projects for a European Capital of Culture aims to bring hundreds of Contributions for Reinventing Imaginations (CRI) to life.
The report of the evaluation panel for the choice of the French city to be European Capital of Culture in 2028 is online.
In the end, Bourges will be the European Capital of Culture in 2028 for France. A title it will share with Budweiss for the Czech Republic and Skopje for North Macedonia.
