The European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024 is already playing host to a large number of events in the region of the 23 participating municipalities.

Invitation to apply to take part in a Collective Moves lab in Veszprém, Hungary. They are inviting applications from European creative practitioners, artists, writers, musicians, dancers and performers interested in joining a new collective and taking part in co-creation laboratories. There will be 5 labs, each lab will be hosted by Veszprém, Hungary and delivered online and in person. Date of personal lab: 14-21.5.2023. Apply for the Open Call until 24.2.2023.

Since 2015, theater makers Elisabeth Sikora and Markus Olzinger have been establishing Gmunden as a location for Austrian and German-language premieres of what is probably the most modern genre in theater history, the musical. 

380 interested people accepted the invitation to the "Marketplace of Ideas" in Bad Ischl. Artists, creatives, entrepreneurs, funding, politics & tourism met for exchange.

The title of European Capital of Culture 2024 is both an honour and a huge responsibility. Through their successful application, with a focus on Salt.Water and the 4 Programme lines (Power of Tradition, Strength of Counter Culture, Impact of (Hyper)Tourism, Flow to Retreat), the region has come together to invite Europe to the Salzkammergut.
