Open CallTure

Liepāja 2027 is seeking professionals in the creative industries — project management, production, communication, and marketing — to jointly deliver an ambitious cultural program featuring hundreds of events from 2025 to 2027.

To enrich the programme of Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 with innovative, interdisciplinary, contemporary and outstanding cultural events, hence boosting the international cooperation, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation is launching an open international competition for the co-financing of cultural and artistic initiatives.

Over the weekend, 30 young people from Liepāja, South Kurzeme and Kuldīga took to the stage to present their culture venue development ideas as part of the Liepāja 2027 youth development pilot programme. After a day of pitching, the jury awarded the main prize of €1,000 to the team behind “Ravegrieži”, a summer solstice rave set to take place in Kuldīga on 20 June.

On 6 May, from 11:00 to 13:00, everyone is warmly invited to the Chamber Hall of the Liepāja Great Amber Concert Hall for the public presentation of the evaluation study results of Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 (Liepāja 2027).

Karas Gallery is an exhibition space of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists (HDLU) with a long tradition in the contemporary art scene. After many years of activity at Praška 4, since 2018, it now operates at the address Kralja Zvonimira 58. Recognizing the need to redefine and create a new cultural identity for the neighborhood where Karas Gallery is located, within the EU project CreART 3.0, a collaborative artistic program titled KARAS + KVART is organized, envisioned in a collaborative and co-creation model between one local artist and one artist from the network.
