Cáceres’ bid for European Capital of Culture in 2031 has opened the public submission period for artistic and cultural projects.
The organisers of Tartu 2024 presented a digital book entitled Tartu 2024: The Story of Survival at the Kultuurikompass Forum, which recounts Tartu and Southern Estonia's year as European Capital of Culture.
In 2032, Bulgaria and Denmark will select their cities for the title of European Capital of Culture. The procedure will open in 2026 when the two countries will officially invite their cities to prepare their candidacies.

Turrell's light sculpture "Ganzfeld - Beyond Horizons 2025" will be installed as part of the PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail on the site of the former coal mine.
