The European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl - Salzkammergut 2024 is part of the Creative Europe Project Libertalia, which invites young people to expand their skills and experiences in the field of participatory performance in exchange with other Europeans.
From July 23 to 30, 2022, a one-week Salt Lab will take place in Altmünster am Traunsee, where artists from Hungary, Sweden, Finland and England will work together with artists and participants from the Salzkammergut region to create a regional interpretation of the Libertalia story as a performance. The final performance will take place on July 30, 2022 at 8 pm on the Esplanade Altmünster (in case of bad weather auditorium of the NMS Altmünster). Free entrance!
Libertalia is part of the Salzkammergut 2024 program line ”Culture in the river”.
The story of Libertalia takes its origin from the Swedish Gathenhielm pirates, who are still known today for having created equilibrium on land and water that enabled society to govern itself. In this sense, the project Libertalia deals with current issues of future coexistence based on equality, empowerment and collective work.
