The evaluation of the applications, a total of 804, from 60 countries, was carried out by a Jury composed of John Romão, President of the Jury (Artistic Director of Évora_27); Chloé Siganos (Director of Performing Arts at the Centre Pompidou, Paris); Javier Peña Ibáñez (curator, cultural programmer, Director of the Concéntrico Festival); Joana Henriques (Director of Public Programmes at MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology / EDP Foundation); and Rui Horta (choreographer, dancer, cultural programmer, founder and former Director of O Espaço do Tempo).

After individual and comparative analysis, the Jury Jury selected for support 34 projects, distributed across the following funding levels: Six projects have been awarded €100,000 each; eight have been awarded €80,000 each; five have been awarded €60,000 each; eight have been awarded €40,000 each; and seven have been awarded €20,000 each.

Foreseen in the Book of Évora_27 – European Capital of Culture, the open call “O Nosso Laboratório / Our Lab” had an allocation of €2 million, intended for artists, individually or collectively, and legal entities, private or public, residing or headquartered in Europe, with the exception of Portugal, or in the extra-European space, with proven experience in the fields to which they apply.

The call was launched on 13 November 2025, with an initial deadline of 13 January 2026, subsequently extended to 31 January 2026.

The selected projects will be presented in Évora and throughout the Alentejo region during 2027, across four types of spaces: cultural (such as theatres and museums); heritage (such as convents and churches); public and urban (such as streets, squares and avenues); and natural (such as gardens or the Montado, the Alentejo’s unique agroforestry ecosystem).
