Nitra is one of the three candidate cities for European Capital of Culture 2026 for Slovakia. In this interview Slávka Civáňová, the dramaturge of Andrej Bagar Theatre, presented a new educational play Until Silence Comes and talks about Nitra and what this city wants to offer to Europe.

Trencin 2026 launches a social contest on Facebook and Instagram among citizens on the theme: Will Europe in 5 years be…?

Žilina is one of three city candidate in Slovakia, together Nitra and Trencin, for European Capital of culture 2026 title. The winner will be chosen on December 9, 2021. Žilina Beskydy 2026 team is going to present at Culture Forum within the competition for a title the European Capital of Culture a 100-page bidbook – strategy and plan of cultural activities.

Trenčín is a middle-sized city in the western region of Slovakia, close to the Czech borders. It has a stunning scenery  with the Váh river crossing the city. Trenčín is one of the three shortlisted candidates for the 2026 European Capital of Culture competition (the others are Nitra and Zilina).
