To drive the full implementation of the Liepāja 2027 programme and its upcoming projects, foster robust partnerships, and spearhead diverse international collaborations, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation has announced two new job opportunities – Project Director and International Project Coordinator.

Join they for two days of practical workshops on attracting and developing audiences. They look forward to welcoming Kurzeme culture professionals who are involved in organising events for young audiences, attracting new audiences, and developing audience strategies on a daily basis.

While in Italy the city of youth, Potenza, in Basilicata, the same region as Matera, European Capital of Culture in 2019, has just been named, in the rest of Europe work is underway to name the European capital of youth for 2027.

In 2027, the European capitals of culture will be Liepaja (Latvia) and Evora (Portugal). Liepāja is a state city in western Latvia, located on the Baltic Sea. It is the largest city in the Kurzeme Region and the third-largest city in the country after Riga (European capital of culture in 2014) and Daugavpils. It is an important ice-free port.

On 8 May this year Liepaja has received a confirmation from the Register of Enterprises on the registration of the foundation “Liepaja 2027 Foundation” in the Register of Associations and Foundations, thus the Foundation has begun its legal activity and is now announcing a number of job vacancies.
