We asked managers of the European capitals of culture from 2022 to 2025, five same questions to understand their expectations in a clear and concise way. Each interview is preceded by a fact sheet on that European capital of culture. The format is the same for all. At the end of the series of interviews we will try to make a synthesis of objectives, trends, expectations by the Ecocs. After NoviSad2022, Esch2022, Kaunas2022 , Veszprem2023, Eleusis2023, Timisoara2023, Tartu2024, Bodø2024, Bad Ischl – Salzkammergut 2024 and Nova Gorica - Gorizia 2025, today we talk about Chemnitz, European Capital of culture 2025.

In 2025, when Chemnitz is the European Capital of Culture, the legendary International Peace Ride will be revived. The European Peace Ride project, which was developed as part of the application for the title, will start this year with one or two stages for ambitious recreational cyclists. The two stages will take 78 riders on 11 and 12 September 2021 over 413 kilometres and around 5500 metres of altitude difference from Chemnitz to Prague and back.

The Municipality of Nova Gorica as a part of GO! 2025 – The European Capital of Culture, invites artists to create proposals for urban interventions as wall paintings or wall installations. In May and June 2021, their border area will host two major and important events: the Giro d’Italia and the Biking Race of Slovenia, which will attract wide attention from the international public.
