On 6 May, the opening “Wake up and OPEN” party of the second season of the cultural venue “Atmodas Dārzs”, will keep you awake all day long.

Portugal is one of the two Member States that are eligible to host the European Capital of Culture in 2027. In total, 12 Portuguese cities participated in the first round of the competition, which started on 23 November 2020. Four cities were appointed to take part in the second round and, after the final hearings, the Panel of independent experts recommended the city of Évora for the title on 7 December 2022.

Liepāja and Évora, European Capitals of Culture in 2027, strengthen cooperation. The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding was held on 14 April, at 10 a.m., at the Palácio D. “Update”, a festival dedicated to moving image, will take place in Liepāja, European capital of culture 2027, and online from 27 to 31 March 2023, according to Maija Demitere, the representative of the organisers.
