After the success of the ECoC year, Veszprém and the Bakony-Balaton region focus on the future of the city and the area.
In recent years, spectacular street art has appeared in several parts of Veszprém, including the Jutasi Housing Estate, Stadion street, and the Viaduct area. Two new areas have recently been covered with paintings, so if you're curious to see the finished works, head to the Veszprém Arena and the Maxon Tunnel.
From the beginning of December, Veszprém will be transformed into a winter wonderland, where children and adults alike can find the recreation of their hearts' desire.
Veszprém and Bakony-Balaton region hosts the world: 29 cities from around the globe to be exact, throughout the year. Guest cities from Japan to Jamaica have 2 weeks to showcase their culture within the framework of Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture’s InterUrban event series, carried out by well connected Hangvető.
Peter Gabriel and Sting's favourite drummer Manu Katché, nu jazz emblematic trumpeter Erik Truffaz, Grammy Award-winning guitar virtuoso Bill Frisell, amazing Swiss drummer Jojo Mayer and the Scary Pockets, who have made a name for themselves with their funk reinterpretations of well-known songs, will also perform at the Veszprém Jazz Festival from 16 to 19 November 2023.
