A central theme of the European Capital of Culture 2025: the doers. Because they are the ones who shape our cities, regions and the whole of Europe and write history. They often work on a small scale, at the workbench, in the basement or behind the counter. But now is the time, because with makers united we bring makers, inventors, creative people and artists together at a European makers festival . Within four days, regional, national and international actors at the beam! – be a maker and Maker Faire Sachsen in their respective worlds and invite you to join in.

The European Maker Festival will take place from July 7th to 10th in the Stadthallenpark, the Stadthalle and the Garagen-Campus and is free of charge . It is organized by the Industrieverein Sachsen 1828 eV, Kreatives Chemnitz eV, as well as the C³ Chemnitz Event Center GmbH and the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 GmbH.

The entire program is available here.

Visions of Europe - Impressions of other European Capitals of Culture
What makes the title of European Capital of Culture so special? No city bears this exclusively, but rather becomes part of an international network of all previous and future Capitals of Culture. That is why we have also invited doers from other European Capitals of Culture to makers united , who will give us live insights into their projects, visions and ambitions at Visions of Europe on July 9 : How did other cities actually design their title as European Capitals of Culture and implemented? What do you dream of, how far is the road really and what remains after the big year?Past and future Capitals of Culture include: Bruges 2002 (Belgium), Tallinn 2010 (Estonia), Wrocław 2016 (Poland), Leeuwarden 2018 (Netherlands), Kaunas 2022 (Lithuania), Leeds 2023 (UK) and Tartu 2024 (Estonia).

Program points:

Immediately afterwards, on July 9th and 10th, at the Maker Faire Sachsen , companies from industry and trade as well as maker initiatives and associations will present themselves at numerous stands in the Stadthallenpark . Here, too, the focus is on creativity : under supervision, visitors big and small can, among other things, 3D print, create and program their own robots, solder and discover the joy of doing things.
