Cáceres 2031 presented this Wednesday the new Office of Cultural Activation and Citizen Participation (OAC), a space created to support, connect and promote the cultural fabric of the city and Extremadura within the project of candidacy for European Capital of Culture.
The open call “Magazia’32 – Treasury for Ideas,” announced by the Burgas-2032 Foundation, gathered nearly 250 conceptual projects. Amid tremendous interest and proposals received from over 20 countries across four continents, the process has concluded for gathering creative and artistic ideas, and educational, partnership and community projects, for inclusion in the cultural program with which Burgas, supported by the region, will apply for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2032.
MedSEA is an international project that focuses on socially engaged art practices as tools for empowering communities in remote areas of the Mediterranean.
Around 40 participants and stakeholders from current, former and future European Capital of Culture (ECoC) cities gathered in Leeuwarden from 13 to 15 April 2026 for the ECoC Echo Knowledge Transfer Seminar. Through a combination of expert presentations, discussions and site visits across Friesland, participants deepened their understanding of how cultural legacy can be built and sustained beyond the title year.
In Netherlands, as in Italy, only a handful of cities have announced their intention to compete to become European Capital of Culture in 2033.
