Matera 2019 continues to be a model for cities applying for the title of European Capital of Culture to study. On 15 and 16 June, a delegation from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, after a stop in Rome at the Ministry of Culture, visited Matera to study the path of the European Capital of Culture in view of 2029, when a Polish city will be celebrating this title.
Open Sound (Osa) is a project by Multietnica association, legacy of Matera 2019, European Capital of culture. OSA launched the 2023 call called Reliving Occitania for young producers/musicians/composers/sound artists from all over the Europe. Deadline: 01/05/2023.
"Nud (Nothing) - From common places to community places, through a diffused narrative for the town”, “The last things. Polyphony for Rionero”, “Basilicata calling. People of Tursi”, “We are Here - Celebrating local community recipes and life through public art installations”. These are the final results of the creative residencies in the Lucanian municipalities of Forenza, Rionero in Vulture, Tursi and Stigliano, presented over the weekend for the wrap-up of the "Creative Communities" program in memory of David Sassoli, promoted by the Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation and Open Design School in partnership with national and European partners.
The Plovdiv 2019 Foundation announces a new open call for project proposals as part of the Legacy Programme of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture. This is a third open call after the year of the title with the definite purpose to preserve and develop the successful model of the European capital of culture initiative.
The ability to activate communities and leave a mark on the territory were the criteria that led to the selection of the four young creatives within the project "Creative Community. Euro-Mediterranean co-creation residency programme - In memory of David Sassoli" promoted by the Fondazione Matera Basilicata 2019 and Open Design School in partnership with GO! 2025 (Nova Gorica-Gorizia), the European Youth Capital Tirana EYC 2022 and under the patronage of the European Capitals of Culture 2022 Esch (Luxembourg), Kaunas (Lithuania) and Novi Sad (Serbia).
