The deadline for submitting applications is 16 August 2026. Number of places available: 3. To mark the opening day of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026, an evening event open to all will take place on 20 June, starting at 6 pm, celebrating friendship, culture and the ties between the two European Capitals of Culture: Trenčín and Nova Gorica / Gorizia.

At its extraordinary meeting on 25 March, the Supervisory Board of Kulturhauptstadt Europas Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH unanimously appointed Josephine Hage as the new Managing Director with effect from 1 October 2026.

The European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 will bid farewell to the programme year this weekend with an outstanding (preliminary) result: the motto "C the Unseen" no longer applies - Chemnitz is now a fixed, visible point on the map of Germany, Europe and the world.
