CulTourData project, funded by COSME program of European Commission, is working to promote the value of data generated by tourism, culture and society during the time a city or region is preparing for or hosting the European Capital of Culture title.

The multidisciplinary network "CECCUT" aims to analyse the European Capital of Culture initiative as a tool for urban cohesion in cross-border areas of the European Union. The focus will be on three main themes proposed by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union concerning the European Capitals of Culture for the period 2020-2033.

For the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic, the European Capitals of Culture met live outside Europe to reflect together on the path of rebirth of cities and to share globally their responses to highly topical challenges such as the New European Bauhaus or the role that culture can play in connecting the rural and the urban.

Every ECoC journey lasts around 10 years, from start to finish, and involves the ever present challenge of how to engage with a complex pool of stakeholder groups, upskill professionals, and connect and grow together as a Capital of Culture. The DeuS project is introducing a unique tool that can help throughout the ECoC journey.

The “European Capitals of Culture Day at the Universal Exhibition 2020 Dubai” is an initiative that Matera-Basilicata 2019 Foundation is organising on the 30th October 2021 in the Italy Pavilion at the Expo of Dubai, in partnership with the Commissioner General of Italy and under the patronage of the European Commission.
