Two initiatives dedicated to two great Slovenian architects. One in Nova Gorica, ecoc 2025, the other in Matera.

‘Intrecci di Comunità - Sviluppo della filiera produttiva della Nuova Libbaneria Mediterranea’ is a project - supported by Fondazione con il Sud and Enel Cuore - that recovers and enhances the production of the „libbani“, the ancient plant ropes used for navigation in the Mediterranean until the 1960s.

From Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 July, Open Sound Festival 2023 arrives in Matera, European capital of culture for 2019. This is the concrete representation of the idea of Land Music Experience that characterises the Open Sound project identity: a rigorous investigation of the soundscape that meets sensitivity for new forms of expression, the courage of innovation that meets the ancestral power of origins. This is the leitmotif of an unmissable lineup that brings internationally renowned artists to some of the most iconic venues in the City of the Sassi.

Matera 2019 continues to be a model for cities applying for the title of European Capital of Culture to study.  On 15 and 16 June, a delegation from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, after a stop in Rome at the Ministry of Culture, visited Matera to study the path of the European Capital of Culture in view of 2029, when a Polish city will be celebrating this title.
