For two evenings in a row, in Timisoara, European Capital of culture for 2023, on August 2 and 3, starting at 10:30 p.m., the Bega Canal in the Flora area will become a fairy-tale stage and a realm of fantasy. On Timișoara Day, the French company Ilotopie will present the water show Acqua Forte Parade – a spectacular artistic event, the likes of which the city has never seen before.
As part of the Timisoara 2023 cultural programme, the exhibition Light whispers in the silence by artists Dorian Bolca, Andrei Bucovanu, RIZI & Dorin Cucicov, Sergiu Doroftei, and Calin Topa will open on 10 October at 8pm at the the MV Sci-Art Cultural Center (Timișoara, bd. Mihai Viteazu, nr.1).
The light seems to be the common pattern of two of the three European capitals of culture this year. Veszprem used as claim of the opening ceremony “Shine”. Timisoara, “"Shine your light - Light up your city!".
The countdown started for the three cities that will be European capitals of culture in 2023: Veszprém (Hungary), Timisoara (Romania) and Eleusis (Greece). In fact, the dates of the opening ceremonies of the respective cultural programs have been decided.
The Center for Projects of the Timișoara Municipality invites curators and experts with complementary attributes to form a unitary collective responsible, on behalf of the Timișoara City Hall, for the artistic coherence and strategic coordination of the „Timișoara 2023 – European Capital of Culture” Programme.
