Trenčín is a middle-sized city in the western region of Slovakia, close to the Czech borders. It has a stunning scenery  with the Váh river crossing the city. Trenčín is one of the three shortlisted candidates for the 2026 European Capital of Culture competition (the others are Nitra and Zilina).

Its programme called Cultivating curiosoty wants to open up curiosity among its inhabitants and visitors, stimulate creative industries in the city and make Trenčín one of the authentic European cultural hubs.

Double the fun this summer! is a slogan of this innovative project which will offer to inhabitants and visitors of Trenčín possibilities to enjoy what they have missed out during Covid. The project consists of dozens of actions that compensate for lost experiences, for example in sports, culture, shops and services, gastronomy, tourism or education.

Ever seen a football match with four teams and two balls, or a concert with each song played twice? Or have you missed out on restaurant experience and fancy two portions of your favourite meal? No problem in Trenčín!

From 26.7. until 26.9. Kateřina Šedá will bring to Trenčín a set of unusual programmes, experiences and offers to make you happy.
