The Capacity Building for European Capitals of Culture project , launched in 2019 and funded by the European Union, offers professionals from a range of disciplines the opportunity to be part of a European database gathering a pool of experts to provide training and capacity-building services, in specific areas of interest and relevance, to designated upcoming European Capitals of Culture.
The areas of interest and relevance have been identified in direct collaboration with the ECoCs through interviews and surveys, complemented by an in-depth analysis of the existing assessments and evaluations of past ECoCs.
Thanks to this new online tool, the European Capital of Cultures will be able to draw from the available profiles when seeking specific skills and knowledge. It must be noted that inclusion in the project database will not automatically imply a recruitment: contracting a given expert for a specific service is the sole responsibility of the ECoCs.
The call for experts will remain open throughout the duration of the project, until February 2022.
The following are the areas of expertise sought:
Audience development
Conflict resolution
Change management
Legal (referred to intellectual property rights and licensing agreements for culture)
Monitoring and evaluation in the cultural sector
Experts in the fields of communications, coordination, international relations, and management are also required.
