This mission is about creating a vibrant cultural future together with the people of Molenbeek and Brussels, and they’re looking for a passionate, creative MarCom Officer to help bring this vision to life. The Role
As their MarCom Officer, you play a crucial role in implementing their communication strategies across diverse online and offline channels. With the coaching of their MarCom manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day work of their marketing and communications plan, using your creativity and operational skills to amplify their voice and message. You’ll work closely with all other team members and community collaborators to build support and enthusiasm for Molenbeek’s candidacy, making a tangible impact through engaging storytelling and community-driven campaigns.
The Key Responsabilities
Coordinate productional partners, freelancers, interns, volunteers
Plan, produce and distribute content
Manage communications platforms and brand consistency
Create audience growth, spur community engagement, and run outreach campaigns
What You Will Be Doing
- Content Creation & Management
Develop compelling, on-brand copy for various media, from social networks posts to event materials.
Apply your graphic and video skills to create visually appealing and shareable content.
Manage and update their WordPress site, using Mailchimp to send campaigns that capture attention.
Bring their digital narrative to life through innovative digital storytelling and cohesive campaign strategies.
- Project Management
Design and implement communication plans for events and projects, keeping all timelines and quality standards on track.
Coordinate with freelancers to maintain brand consistency and meet project deadlines.
Execute operational tasks efficiently, handling multiple projects and meeting tight timelines.
- 360° Marketing
Use Meta Business Suite and other tools to drive engagement on their social channels, creating compelling content that inspires audiences.
Grow their digital audience through targeted, creative social media advertising.
Produce campaigns through other outlets, print and outdoor.
Ensure their reach is broad and inclusive by leveraging both online and offline communication channels.
- Press & Public Relations
Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and other partners to amplify Molenbeek’s story.
Prepare press releases and manage media inquiries to ensure consistent and positive media presence.
- Community Building and Engagement
Engage and grow their online community through interactive, engaging content.
Mobilize local residents and stakeholders, fostering enthusiasm for Molenbeek’s candidacy and cultural initiatives.
- Analytics & Tactical Insights
Use analytical tools to evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities, adapting strategies based on insights and emerging trends.
What they are Looking For
Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a communications role, with experience in community management and campaign development.
Language Skills: Fluency in French, a good understanding of Dutch and English.
Content Expertise: Strong writing and editing abilities with a feeling for intuitive storytelling.
Social Media Proficiency: Hands-on experience in managing social platforms professionally.
Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Passion: Enthusiasm for Molenbeek and Brussels in a European context, culture, and community engagement.
Creativity & Analysis: A healthy balance of creative thinking and an analytical mindset.
Time Management: Excellent organizational skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with WordPress, Mailchimp, Meta Business Suite, Graphic design, Video-editing and other relevant tools.
Flexibility: Willingness to work beyond typical hours as needed to meet project goals.
