 It is a democratic problem that individuals and groups in society do not feel involved in the development of their own local community. Research shows that the further away from central areas and the capital, the lower the trust of the population in public authorities.

The countdown to the opening ceremony of Tartu, European Capital of Culture 2024, on 26 January has begun. And well in advance, the cultural programme with 350 projects and over a thousand events is already online here.

Notre Dame is called the soul of Paris. This church is a place of identification for an entire country. As a result of the tragic fire in 2019, their bells have fallen silent. However, these bells were not damaged by the fire and quietly “listen” to the sounds of the city around Notre Dame. Silent Echoes: Notre Dame  is a continuously live-streamed sound sculpture that makes audible the simple physical fact that these bells are constantly ringing in secret.

Inviting cultural organisations to submit an ambitious artistic proposal that contributes to imagining Europe and its future(s), the call to curate and host The European Pavilion 2024 sparked interest all over the continent. The European Cultural Foundation (ECF) received as many as thirty-nine proposals from organisations based in more than twenty countries.

Tourism in times of climate change – does it even make sense? And how can sustainable tourism succeed? The Interreg project “Alpine Region Worth Living” is intended to answer questions that are so important to Austria and Bavaria. It is run for three years under the leadership of the Johannes Kepler University Linz and is endowed with 1.1 million euros.
