“Update”, a festival dedicated to moving image, will take place in Liepāja, European capital of culture 2027, and online from 27 to 31 March 2023, according to Maija Demitere, the representative of the organisers.

Evora will be the European capital of culture for Portugal in 2027. This was announced today by the president of the evaluation panel, Beatriz Garcia, during a press conference in the presence of national, local and European institutional representatives.

These are days of great trepidation in Portugal. The visits of the evaluation panel to the four cities of Portugal that have entered the short list to become European Capital of Culture for 2027 start today.

After submitting its final Bid Book for the European Capital of Culture 2027 on October 20, Braga’27 presented the document on the following day at a press conference open to the public, which took place at Theatro Circo.

The report of the Evaluation Jury was published on the European Union website with the reasons that led Liepāja to be named European Capital of Culture for 2027 in Latvia.
