Cáceres 2031, city candidate for European Capital of Culture, seeks Mediator Artists to Work with Young People in the Generation 31 Program.

The call is open to creators from different disciplines who are able to design one-hour artistic sessions primarily aimed at high school students. The application period is open until March 18th

Cáceres' bid to become European Capital of Culture 2031 has launched a call for applications to select mediator artists who will develop activities with young people within the framework of the Generation 31 program, an initiative that promotes youth participation in the city's cultural development.

The call is open to creators from different disciplines—from performing arts and music to audiovisual, visual arts, literature, or performance—who are able to design one-hour artistic sessions primarily aimed at secondary school students. These activities will address topics related to the Urban Agenda, such as sustainability, accessibility, coexistence, public space, and social innovation.

The organization's objective is not only to transmit content, but also to generate experiences that foster critical thinking, collective reflection, and the involvement of young people in the urban challenges of their environment.

Artist Selection
The selected artists will become part of a pool of mediators from which educational centers can request sessions between April and December 2026, in coordination with the application team.

The call for applications especially values experience in educational or community contexts, methodological clarity, and mediation and communication skills. Interested individuals should submit, among other materials, their curriculum vitae, a conceptual proposal for the activity, a reflection on artistic mediation, and a short introductory video.

This is a paid activity once the artists are selected.

With this initiative, the Generation 31 program seeks to mobilize young people as protagonists of the present and future of the city, integrating art as a tool for thinking about and transforming urban space.

To register and submit an application, please access this link and fill out the required information before March 18.

This call for applications is connected to the Inter-School Educational Project "Aldealab, Young People in Action," developed jointly by IES El Brocense and the Cáceres City Council, through the Strategic Funds and Local Development Section.
