Bodø2024 is looking for program coordinators. Application deadline: 7 November 2021

Bodø and Nordland have the status of European Capital of Culture in 2024, the first ever north of the Arctic Circle. The title has been awarded to Bodø and Nordland after an application project to the EU that lasted several years. Bodø Municipality and Nordland County organised the development of the application, in collaboration with representatives from the established cultural institutions in Northern Norway

The EU application ARCTICulation describes the concept, framework and structure for the program work. The program will be developed towards 2024, in collaboration with the established cultural institutions locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

About the position

Bodø2024 currently has two 100% positions available as program coordinator. The positions are temporary and last from start to 01.03.2025. 
The positions and key responsibilities are related to the development, coordination and implementation of the program project Bodø2024.

Key responsibilities

To contribute to the overall planning and coordination in the program department in Bodø2024, based on the EU application ARCTICulation.

Follow up and coordinate a large number of individual projects in different collaboration constellations, with responsibility for coordinating all phases, including concept / content development, budget, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Contribute to Bodø2024 developing programs for various target audiences throughout Bodø and Nordland.
Contribute to Bodø2024 achieving a strong European dimension, in both content and network.
Dialogue and negotiation of agreements, and preparation of proposals for contracts and progress plans.
Plan, lead and conduct work and production meetings, both internally and externally.
Internal and external dissemination of project information.

Qualifications

Art and cultural competence. Interdisciplinarity and experience with project work in several forms of expression is an advantage.
Ability to implement and get good results.
Experience with relevant project work and production in a professional context.
Higher education at college/university level in art/culture is an advantage.
It is an advantage to be able to document both administrative and artistic experience.

Skills

Good collaboration skills, and ability to communicate well with an extensive and broad network of institutions, organisations and independent artists. Ability and capacity to structure and coordinate large amounts of information. A good strategic understanding and the ability to be involved in long-term development work. Fluency in English, in addition to a Scandinavian language.
