We asked managers of the European capitals of culture from 2022 to 2025, five same questions to understand their expectations in a clear and concise way. Each interview is preceded by a fact sheet on that European capital of culture. The format is the same for all. At the end of the series of interviews we will try to make a synthesis of objectives, trends, expectations by the ecocs. After Novi Sad 2022 and Esch-Sur-Alzette 2022 today we talk about Kaunas, European Capital of culture 2022.

Landscape design festival Magenta and its’ partner “Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022” have announced an open call for participation in the 2022 edition of the festival and are inviting creators from various fields to propose their ideas for projects to be implemented in Kaunas City in 2022.

To celebrate Kaunas and Esch, the second-largest cities in Lithuania and Luxembourg, and both European Capitals of Culture in 2022 (alongside Novi Sad), the Lithuanian community in Luxembourg presents three photographic events at Annexe22.

The international performing arts festival ConTempo initiated by Kaunas2022 announces an open call for creators living in Lithuania & invites to become a part of the international festival programme.

The International Day of Happiness, celebrated on the 20th of March, returns to Kaunas, Kaunas District and all of Lithuania again this year: “Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022” invites you to celebrate it for the fourth time, under the theme “Time to rise”.
