The call for proposals is open, i.e. applications can be submitted from 1 January to 3 April 2022. The aim of the call for proposals is to support the implementation of international cultural projects interpreting the concept of the Arts of Survival of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 in the years 2023–2024.

Ecoc2027 Portugal will be Evora

The president of european panel, Beatriz Garcia, announced the names of the European capital of culture in 2027 for Portugal in a press conference this afternoon. The Ecoc 2027 for Portugal will be Evora. 

Contextile 2022 will host two artistic residencies within the biennial’s programme between the 15th July and the 31st August 2022 in Guimarães, Portugal. Deadline: 09th January 2022. Therefore, they invite all interested artists to apply and present a proposal for an artistic project to be developed and produced in one of these residencies.

Blitz, the contemporary art space in Valletta, is inviting applications for Open Digital Residency. This is a three-month residency for selected artists from various art genres, which will include a research period and the exhibition on the digital platform "Open". The jury will be made up of four experts, including Ms Alexadra Pace, founder of BLITZ and the photographer who had a shooting in Aomori Prefecture for a photography project “the European Eyes on Japan/Japan Today” vol. 20. On Tuesday, November 2nd, Trencin 2026 team sent out a hundred-page application - the Bid book, which contains the programme of Trenčín as the European Capital of Culture from 2021 to 2026. The Bid book was carried down from the castle.

At ExpoDubai, as part of the Ecoc Day, the first ever group game dedicated to the European capitals of culture designed by the Open Design school of the Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation was successfully presented.

Cultural Management Academy is the latest large-scale project with which the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation will continue its mission to upgrade and develop the capacity in the field of culture after the year in which the city of Plovdiv was the first European Capital of Culture.
