There will be a strong appeal for fans from all over the world who will meet on the beach of Torre Mozza di Policoro, in the international swing world now defined as the 'Harlem of the South', to take part in workshops and laboratories, from basic to advanced levels, and to share their love of swing music and dance with the international community, improving skills and techniques and allowing themselves to be carried away by fun and socialising.

"We have prepared a very rich programme of activities to celebrate this important milestone together, which we look back on as a new starting point. In these 10 years we have grown a lot within the international community thanks to the presence of some of the most qualified professionals in the world of this genre and thanks to a special offer where we combine the beauty of the area with clean beaches, music and sport with sailing competitions. It is no coincidence that two weeks after the start we have already almost sold out with 500 participants from different parts of the world such as Australia, the USA, Germany and even Korea and Taiwan, and from every corner of Italy,' says Franco Pontrandolfi, director of the kermesse.

For this special edition, Policoro in Swing has been dedicated to Spike Lee's film 'Malcolm X', some 30 years after its release, which tells the story of the black American leader who, as well as being a protagonist in the defence of civil rights in favour of the weakest and against all kinds of discrimination, was also a great Lindy Hop fan.

It is no coincidence that among the most prestigious names coming to Policoro are those of two great historical figures of swing dancing, Sonny Allen and Ryan Francois, both of whom are in the cast of Malcolm X.

"Malcolm X," explains artistic director Gigi "Boogie Allen," is historically known much more "as one of the leading voices of black Americans in an era filled with racial discord."
He is less well known as a Lindy Hop dancer but certainly can be considered the most famous person who at one stage of his life loved and danced to Jazz/Swing music".

During the week of Policoro in Swing, fans will enjoy an extraordinary experience full of live music, workshops, friendship and international relations practically 24 hours a day.
As in previous editions, there will also be meetings open to the public in Policoro's central square where professional dancers, teachers in the camp who will compete for the prestigious Policoro in Swing 2024 edition, of the prize.

Sailing competitions with performances and live music on board are also planned.
