The performing arts are an essential part of the Esch 2022 programme, which will be implemented in partnership with institutions and companies from Luxembourg (Escher Theater, TROIS CL, Théâtre National du Luxembourg, Kulturfabrik, to name but a few) and the CCPHVA (L’Arche de Micheville, a.o.) as well as institutions from the Grand Est such as the Théâtre National de Strasbourg (shows for young audiences) and NEST – Centre Dramatique National transfrontalier de Thionville (through a new production around cross-border commuting).

From the end of September until the beginning of December 2021, Esch2022 invites people to take part in panel discussions, workshops and special events with artists and project partners. These serve to prepare and help shape the REMIX Opening on 26 February and show the various facets of Esch2022 in advance; they offer the opportunity to help shape the future of the 19 participating municipalities. Free admission, reservation is required.

A two-day work meeting with representatives of local and European institutions and organisations regarding the cooperation in the REWOMEN – ‘European Women’s Remembrance’ project was held in Andrevlje at Frupka Gora on Tuesday, some days ago.

The Vëlosummer is a joint initiative of the General Directorate for Tourism and the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works. In collaboration with 65 municipalities, a number of roads throughout the country will be reserved for cyclists from 31st July onwards. This is a special occasion to enjoy leisurely rides on trafficfree roads. Routes will be open to the public either on weekends, or even throughout the whole month of August.

One of the largest international contemporary art festivals in the Baltic region, the 13th Kaunas Biennial will take place from 12 November 2021 to 20 February 2022. The exhibition, titled “Once Upon Another Time… gyveno jie jau kitaip” offers reflections on current global situations, including the pandemic, with a curatorial project that explores human resilience and adaptation.
