This year’s edition of the European Capitals of Culture Summit will take place on the 2nd of December 2026 at the European Parliament in Brussels, bringing together European Capitals of Culture, European policymakers and representatives of major cultural networks to discuss the future of the ECoC initiative and the role of culture in Europe.

Molenbeek is on a transformative journey to win the title of European Capital of Culture in 2030. This mission is about creating a vibrant cultural future together with the people of Molenbeek and Brussels, and they’re looking for a passionate, creative MarCom Officer to help bring this vision to life. This role is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who thrives on engaging communities and making real impact through cultural communication.

The month of September will be very important for a number of European cities that want to win the title of European Capital of Culture. In September, in fact, the evaluation panel will have to suggest the European Capital of Culture 2029 for Poland, choosing among the four short-listed cities: Bielsko-Biała, Katowice, Kołobrzeg, Lublin. And also in September it will be known which cities in Belgium have decided to participate in the competition for European Capital of Culture in 2030.

After two successful editions, the Brussels2030 Summer Assembly is back in its spring and Molenbeek version.

Brussels is brimming with cultural, artistic and socio-cultural dynamics. At the same time, Brussels is home to an abundant and active network of ‘city makers’ who are already taking up roles ‘from below’ in unfolding the urban transformation(s), either directly or indirectly.
