As is now known, in 2022 there will be three European capitals of culture, Novi Sad, kaunas and Esch. The first city to inaugurate the program will be Novi Sad, on January 13 at 20.22. Kaunas will follow on January 22 and then Esch on February 22 with a ceremony that will culminate on February 26. Today focus on the Opening Ceremony of Novi Sad.

A unique artistic celebration in Europe, Doček, will open the European Capital of Culture year in Novi Sad, with a programme that will be seen for the first time in this area.

In 2022, Esch2022 will share the title of European Capital of Culture with Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania, and Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia. To promote this triangular relationship and highlight their common values, the three cities have launched a series of programmes and collaborations that will be presented, among others, as part of their respective opening ceremonies.
