GECT GO, the entity responsible for relations between Slovenia and Italy, has published the third call for proposals under the Small Projects Fund, financed by the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Program 2021-2027.
The call regulates all procedures relating to the submission, selection, and financing of small projects within the GO! 2025 Small Projects Fund (hereinafter, "SPF GO! 2025 Small Projects Fund), financed under the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Program (hereinafter referred to as the “Program”), with the aim of contributing to the specific objective of Program 4.6 “Enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion, and social innovation”; small projects must also contribute to the strategic objectives of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica–Gorizia.
The Monitoring Committee of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Program has approved the Small Projects Fund in support of CEC 2025 (European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica – Gorizia), identifying the EGTC GO as the sole beneficiary responsible for managing the Fund. The EGTC GO was in fact the first to submit the application for this title and is now responsible, together with the Slovenian public body Javni Zavod GO!2025, for its implementation.
The overall objective of the Call is to encourage greater cross-border cooperation in the cultural sector and exploit synergies with initiatives related to the European Capital of Culture 2025 to maximize the potential impact on the development of the entire area.
The Call contributes to the specific objective of Program 4.6 “Enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion, and social innovation” and supports the strategy of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica-Gorizia.
Project proposals must pursue the following specific objective 4.6: Strengthen the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion, and social innovation.
Based on the themes defined as guiding principles in the SPF GO! 2025 Action Plan and in the Bid Book for Nova Gorica – Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025, and considering the results of the SPF GO! 2025 calls for proposals nos. 01/2023 and 2/2024, this call for proposals focuses on the following themes:
- initiatives that promote the active inclusion and participation of children and young people under 30 through co-design processes, with the aim of enhancing their skills, promoting their employability, and stimulating structured relationships with cultural, institutional, and local stakeholders;
- enhancement of green areas and aquatic environments, such as rivers, lakes, streams,
lagoons, and coastal areas, through socio-cultural, artistic, and environmental awareness initiatives;
- development of cross-border content aimed at enhancing public infrastructure already present in the Program area;
- promotion of well-being and social cohesion in sport and physical activity accessible to all.
The consistency of project proposals with the above-listed themes will be subject to evaluation.
Project proposals must stand out for their cross-cutting ability to generate a lasting impact on the entire Program area and contribute to consolidating the visibility acquired by the territory during the European Year of Nova Gorica - Gorizia 2025.
It should be noted that project actions must have a clear and unequivocal cross-border impact, extending to the entire Program area.
The partnership must consist of:
- Two partners (LP and PP), with one partner based in Italy and one partner based in Slovenia, for projects with a budget between €30,000.00 and €100,000.00;
- A single applicant, exceptionally for projects ranging from €30,000.00 to €50,000.00. In this case, the single applicant is considered the LP.
Each project must have a maximum budget of €100,000.00.
All projects must guarantee cross-border impact.
The duration of the projects must not exceed 12 months.
The total funding available for this Call is €1,026,839.17.
The deadline for submitting project proposals is October 17, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.
